5 Can’t-Miss Events in DC this June
The month of June is packed with events celebrating the much-anticipated arrival of summer. Everyone is out and about enjoying the weather, events and festivals are happening every weekend, and the District is always buzzing with action. Between DC Jazz Fest and the National Capital Barbecue Battle, there is something for everyone this month! Read on for our list of our top five favorite June events in DC, enjoy!
DC Jazz Fest
The 2018 DC Jazz Fest is back! Since 2005, the festival has brought entertaining jazz performances and programs to the District, appealing to all ages, and backgrounds. This year’s festival will showcase over 125 performances in over 40 different venues. Over 90 bands and 300 artists of varying skill levels will perform, including new and emerging artists to top-level jazz talent. A few noteworthy venues include The Wharf, the Kennedy Center, and City Winery. The festival will feature free shows as well as ticketed shows. Get ready for jazz to take over the District for the 2018 DC Jazz Fest!

Rosé All Gameday
June 9th is National Rosé Day and the Washington Nationals are celebrating in style. Head to Nationals Park in the Capitol Riverfront on Saturday, June 9th for their first annual Rosé All Gameday event. Tickets to the event include a special field level section game ticket, access to a private Rosé Garden, and one free can of Sofia Rosé. The private garden will have rosé and frosé for sale, a photo station, and the opportunity to win prizes. Cheer on the home team and celebrate National Rosé Day at the same time – you can’t beat that!

Summerfest DC
Due to severe weather, Summerfest DC was postponed until June 16th – 17th, so there is still a chance to get your tickets and enjoy the event! Summerfest DC is one of the District’s best beer, wine, and music festivals where you can sample over 70 craft beers, over 25 wines, and over 7 ciders. Live music throughout the day, unlimited tastings, food available for purchase, games, and more make Summerfest DC an event you don’t want to miss.

Smithsonian Solstice Saturday
In celebration of the Summer Solstice, the Smithsonian is hosting Solstice Saturday, a day of parties, programs, and performances at a variety of Smithsonian museums. Participating museums will be open until midnight in celebration of the Solstice, allowing visitors to enjoy the festivities all night long.

National Capital Barbecue Battle
Celebrate the “Official Start of Summer” at one of the largest and most unique food festivals you can find, the National Capital Barbecue Battle. For two days, ring in summer by enjoying delicious barbecue, live music, cooking demonstrations, and much more. In addition to the delicious eats and exciting entertainment, the National Capital Barbecue Battle has raised millions of dollars for local charities. This year, proceeds will go to USO Metro and Capital Area Food Bank. Celebrate summer with all of the best barbecue while giving back to the community? Sounds like a win-win!
