Cleveland Park is a D.C. neighborhood with a different feel than we are used to –think open spaces, large family homes, and beautiful historic houses. The neighborhood has easy access to its own parks, shops, and restaurants while still being close to the city and all that it has to offer. Cleveland Park draws people in, and they never seem to leave. The neighborhood is full of long time residents, which is part of the attraction. You will hardly need to leave the area, as it has most things you will need on a day-to-day basis. All in all, we can’t seem to get enough of Cleveland Park’s peaceful and welcoming neighborhood vibes.

Our Favorite Brunch Spot
Medium Rare is our favorite brunch spot in Cleveland Park for many reasons. The restaurant has a French inspired theme, which is both charming and enjoyable, the food is consistently delicious, and best of all, their brunch menu can’t be beat. For just $25, Medium Rare offers an all-inclusive brunch menu, including bottomless drinks – this deal is practically unheard of. The menu consists of five options, but not to worry, all of them are great – Steak Frites, Steak and Eggs, French Toast and Sausage, Eggs Benedict, and Egg Frites and Sausage. For the bottomless beverages, you may choose from Bloody Marys, Screwdrivers, Mimosas, Fresh Orange Juice, and Coffee. Medium Rare is a must-try brunch spot in Cleveland Park – we promise it won’t disappoint.
Our Favorite Happy Hour Spot
Our go-to happy hour in Cleveland Park is at the Cleveland Park Bar and Grill. Happy Hour at Cleveland Park consists of $3 Bud Light, Miller Light, and Shocktop, $4 House Red and White Wine, and $4 rail liquor drinks. Additionally, every day has a different special of the week, including half priced burgers, half priced wings, half priced bottles of wine, and more. Best Place To Work Up A Sweat
City Fitness Gym is one of Cleveland Park’s best places to sweat. City Fitness’s doors have been open for over twenty years, and have since become one of Cleveland Park’s best workout facilities. The gym’s main focus is its members – their overall health, wellbeing, and goals. With personal training, classes, and free weight and cardio equipment, City Fitness has something for everyone. The gym has become a community – they are always getting involved in the neighborhood, both in and outside of the gym. Their dedication to their members, the service provided, and the family and community feel they have created make City Fitness Gym the best in the area.
Best Way To Get Around
For the most part, Cleveland Park is very easy to navigate, regardless of your means of transportation. If you prefer public transportation, Cleveland Park has it’s own Red Line Metro Stop, and traveling by car in and out of Cleveland Park tends to be a bit easier than other D.C. neighborhoods. If you are a walker, you will be able to find mostly everything you need right within the neighborhood. While Cleveland Park isn’t high on the list of D.C.’s most walkable neighborhoods, it has still earned the title of “Very Walkable”. According to Walk Score, “people in Cleveland Park can walk to an average of 6 restaurants, bars, and coffee shops in five minutes”.
Neighborhood Lifestyle
Cleveland Park is a close-knit neighborhood. A lot of the residents moved here and never left, and most newcomers also plan on never leaving. The community is extremely close and has a neighborhood association that is always looking out for its residents, and for ways to better the neighborhood. There is a large population of older folks in Cleveland Park, and we know why – people move here knowing everything they need is here, and raising a family and growing old here is both convenient and comfortable. Living in Cleveland Park, you will develop close-knit ties to both the people and the neighborhood, and that is not something you find everywhere.
What You Won’t Find
If you are looking for the normal hustle and bustle of a D.C. neighborhood, Cleveland Park is not where you will find that. This is one of the more low-key neighborhoods, as it’s residential areas tend to be on the quieter side, and the neighborhood itself is fairly spread out. While it still has both Wisconsin Avenue and Connecticut Avenue to bring that busy commercial feel, the majority of the neighborhood tends to have more of a small town feel.
Living In Cleveland Park
Like Cleveland Park’s neighborhood feel, the apartment living options are quite different than the rest of the D.C. area. A common theme throughout the neighborhood is large, historic Queen Anne homes. Many of the apartments and condos are on the older side as well. Unlike the rest of D.C., you won’t find as many newly constructed, upscale apartment buildings. The market is quite expensive, as most of the homes are historic and the neighborhood itself is extremely desirable. While it is expensive, the homes are beautiful, and the neighborhood is worth the price.
