Washington DC's Most Instagrammable Food

Stuffed Everything Bagel Doughnuts

Continuing with the ever popular food mashup trend, B. Doughnut took their Portuguese-style stuffed Malasada doughnuts and turned them savory with their line-up of everything bagel doughnuts.  Choose from 3 varieties, chive, bacon, or lox, or go for a classic sweet filled doughnut if you’re not feeling so adventurous – they’re equally as beautiful!  Bonus: their DC shop is located within the equally Instagrammable Union Market, so be sure to also capture these shots while you’re there.

Poke Bowls

The poke bowl trend seems to be here to stay, and for good reason!  This dish is delicious, nutritious, and downright photo-worthy.  Head to Poki District for a taste (and lots of photos) of this hot menu item.

Seasonal Plant-Based Tacos

It doesn’t get much fresher than these sustainable, locally sourced tacos from Chaia.  Their “farm to taco” mentality means you get the freshest ingredients possible, served wrapped up in corn tortilla and topped with hyper-local micro greens – nutritious and delicious!  Bonus: the eatery itself is equally as photogenic!

Pork Belly or Shitake Mushroom Steamed Buns

Masa 14 owns a big piece of our hearts already thanks to their incredible bottomless brunch offering, but these steamed buns are sure to create some serious Insta-envy.  Visit for dinner or happy hour to try the buns, then come back for brunch soon (seriously, so good).

Lobster Caprese

The opening of RPM Italian, the third restaurant from Bill & Giuliana Rancic and their first in Washington, DC, was a hotly anticipated one.  After just over a year of residency here in the District, it’s clear that the food, ambiance, and service were worth the wait.  You can’t go wrong with this modern Italian menu, but one of the more stunningly beautiful menu items is the lobster caprese.

Smoothie Bowls

“Food porn” has a way of falling on the less-than-healthy end of the spectrum, but Jrink Juicery gives us the best of both worlds with their gorgeous smoothie bowls.  There are multiple locations, so there’s bound to be one in your neck of the woods!

Seafood Towers

Whaley’s, one of the newer hot spots in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, brings fresh, sustainable seafood to the table in grand fashion.  Truly, there is not one thing about this place that won’t have you snapping away – the interior is bright and charming, the outdoor rosé garden is a pink and white dream, and everything on the menu is as beautiful as it is delicious – but if you’re really going for Instagram gold, splurge on the large seafood tower, just be sure to bring along a few friends to help you tackle this bounty of the sea!

Pizza

Chosen by Washington Post’s Food Critic Tom Sietsema as his favorite DC restaurant of 2016, All Purpose Pizzeria is another example of a DC gem with dishes that look as great as they taste.  After the success of their first location in the Shaw neighborhood, All Purpose plans to open an second location in the Capitol Riverfront later this year.
