Our Favorite Brunch Spot
We love Sam’s Canterbury Cafe for breakfast all day and weekend brunch. The all-day breakfast menu consists of the standard breakfast items that you would expect: toasts, breakfast sandwiches, and more. The Brunch menu is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00AM – 4:00PM. In addition to the breakfast menu, waffles, omelets, and their lunch menu is offered as well. Sam’s Canterbury Café is our favorite spot in the area because of the delicious food, but also because of their meaningful message. They hire adults that are on the autism spectrum, giving them the opportunity to work with and be a part of the Sam’s Canterbury Café team. With great food, service, and a meaningful message, Sam’s Canterbury Café is our favorite restaurant for breakfast and brunch in the Guilford area.
Our Favorite Happy Hour Spot
For happy hour in the Guilford area, Alonso’s is our go-to. While they do not have a set happy hour, they have rotating specials each night. Specials include both discounted food and drinks, and the special lasts all day. $5 off burgers and $2.50 beers on Mondays, bottomless wine on Wednesdays, and Sunday Funday deals are just a few of the deals offered throughout the week. The beer and drink list is extensive – there is something for everyone on the menu. The atmosphere at Alonso’s is perfect for happy hour as well – an American grill with bars, TVs, darts, and a friendly neighborhood vibe.

Best Way To Get Around
Transportation throughout and around the Guilford neighborhood is best done by personal vehicle. The public transportation options are limited, and most things are not convenient by foot. The neighborhood is in close proximity to a variety of attractions, but very few are within walking distance. That being said, most places that Guilford residents need to go are just a quick drive away. Commuting around and outside the area is convenient, so relying on a personal vehicle is not an issue for residents.

Living In Guilford
Apartment living is not much of a trend in Guilford. The area is known for its large and beautiful homes, however, smaller row homes and cottages are scattered throughout the neighborhood as well. Real estate tends to be expensive here as it is a National Register Historic District, and many of the homes are historic, unique, and highly sought after. While apartment living is not very popular here, there are a handful of luxury apartment buildings available for rent.
