Canton is one of our favorite Baltimore neighborhoods. The area combines convenience, history, and community, creating a truly unique neighborhood vibe. Residents of Canton have created a close-knit community feel, which is why everyone loves living here so much. The neighborhood is convenient and enjoyable – restaurants, parks, shops, and waterfront views are all a part of the Canton charm. Whether you are looking for a relaxing neighborhood, or once in which you can enjoy a night of entertainment, Canton combines the best of both worlds.
Our Favorite Breakfast Spot
The best breakfast in Baltimore is located in Canton at The Iron Rooster. This local favorite serves breakfast all day – what could be better than that? The menu is extensive, consisting of all your breakfast favorites, and then some. Various Eggs Benedict, Omelet, and Pancake and Waffle dishes are some of the more standard items you will find on the menu. Breakfast nachos, Breakfast Flatbread, and their famous homemade pop-tarts are some of the more specialty items offered. When we say you can’t leave without trying a pop-tart, you really can’t leave without trying a pop-tart. You won’t regret it! There is a variety of breakfast cocktails as well – the Bacon Bloody Mary and Iron Crush are our personal favorites.

El Bufalo Tequila Bar & Kitchen, a Mexican and South Western Inspired bar located in the heart of Canton Square, is our go-to spot for Happy Hour in the Canton neighborhood. Monday-Friday from 4:00-7:00PM, El Bufalo offers $3 Mexican beers, $5 Wine, and $7 signature cocktails. There are several appetizers offered at happy hour prices as well, including guacamole, quesadillas, nachos, chicken wings, and more. The convenient location of El Bufalo has made it a go-to happy hour destination for all that live or work in the Canton neighborhood. With over 50 types of tequila, a delicious menu, and laid back vibes, you can’t beat El Bufalo for your week night happy hours.

Best Way To Get Around
The best way to get around Canton for your daily needs is by foot, just about everything you need is in walking distance. With a Walk Score of 90, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and more are all walkable destinations when living in Canton. Traveling outside of the city is best by vehicle, as public transportation is not very prominent here. There are four bus lines that pass through, but otherwise, traveling by personal vehicle is typically the most convenient. Many of the area’s major highways are close by, making commuting in and out of Canton quite easy.
The Canton neighborhood has a very strong and prominent sense of community. Neighborhood features such as the Dog Park, the Farmers Market, the Waterfront Park, and Two Rivers Park allow residents to come together in common places and enjoy each other’s company. Canton Square, the heart of the neighborhood, contains most of the neighborhood’s attractions: restaurants, bars, and shops. Canton is one of Baltimore’s most popular neighborhoods, and residents love living here because of its convenience, the culture and nightlife, and the close community feel.

Apartment living is not the most prominent of housing situations in Canton. While there are a few apartment complexes in the area, row homes are the most common option for those looking to rent in Canton. Condominiums and single-family homes are common as well. While apartment living isn’t as common here in Canton, there are various luxury apartment buildings that are on the rise. A few noteworthy buildings are The Porter Brewers Hill, Domain Brewers Hill, and The Gunther – all of which are high end apartments for rent located in Canton.
