As one of our favorite areas in DC, Glover Park is a warm and vibrant community nestled amongst the DC neighborhoods of Cleveland Park, Cathedral Heights and Georgetown. In Glover Park, you will find a mix of apartment buildings, office buildings, and single family homes as well as a variety of shops and restaurants.
Community Highlights:
Washington National Cathedral
Under construction from 1907 to 1990 as the “great church for national purposes”, the National Cathedral is an incredible piece of architecture and art and has served as the home of many historical events, including President Theodore Roosevelt’s 1907 speech, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last sermon, and President Ronald Reagan’s State Funeral. The cathedral is open to the public from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM most days, but check the website before you plan your visit.

The Guy Mason Community Center
A combination of outdoor and indoor recreational space, this community center serves as a gathering place for neighborhood residents and youth in particular. The outdoor space consists of a basketball court, an enclosed dog park, play ground, park site, and a 90′ baseball diamond. The indoor space consists of classrooms and multipurpose rooms where art, music, dance and fitness classes are held.
Restaurants
Glover Park is also home to a number of diverse and equally delectable restaurants. You’ll find your staples like Starbucks and Chipotle, as well as some local favorites. These include Rocklands Barbecue, Slate Wine Bar & Bistro, and the Surfside. Tip: don’t you dare walk past the Surfside without stopping in for one of their fish tacos. Or three. You’re welcome.
Shopping
You can run most of your errands without ever leaving your neighborhood: just a short stroll down the block you’ll find a CVS, the Glover Park Hardware Store, Pearson’s Liquor Store (yes, that counts as an errand), a post office, a few fitness clubs and your very own Whole Foods!
