5 Rent Controlled DC Apartments To Tour This Weekend

When living in a big city, finding the right place to live at the right price can feel nearly impossible. Luckily, there are several apartment buildings throughout the District that are rent controlled, which makes finding affordable housing more realistic than we could have ever dreamed.  Learn more about exactly what “rent control” means, then keep reading below for some of our favorite rent controlled DC apartment buildings throughout the city.

The Norwood

The Norwood is a historic building located in Adams Morgan that has been upgraded to create more modernized rent controlled apartments. The building has studio and one-bedroom apartments available, which range in size from 526 SqFt to 709 SqFt. The Norwood has all of the essential amenities one would want in an apartment – hardwood flooring, high ceilings, central air conditioning, controlled access into the building, and on-site maintenance and management. Living at The Norwood gives you easy access to the conveniences of the Adams Morgan neighborhood and the serenity of Rock Creek Park.

Parkside is a rent controlled apartment building located in Adams Morgan. Residents here enjoy beautiful hardwood floors, arched doorways, and gas stoves in these studio and one-bedroom apartments. Additional amenities include all utilities included in rent, on-site maintenance and management, and updated kitchens. The studio apartments are around 375 SqFt while the one bedroom apartments are approximately 500 Sq/Ft. The prime location, just steps from all that Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights have to offer, makes these apartments all the more desirable.

2800 Woodley

These Woodley Park apartments are located minutes away from the heart of D.C.’s Woodley Park neighborhood. At 2800 Woodley, residents can choose from studio, one, and two bedroom apartments, all of which are rent controlled. The apartments feature energy efficient appliances, hardwood flooring, spacious closets, and air conditioning. The community has a parking garage, laundry facility, concierge service, and a sundeck and courtyard. All utilities are included in your rent, making apartment living even easier. With just a 2-block walk to the Metro and access to all that Woodley Park has to offer, 2800 Woodley is a convenient and affordable place to call home.

The Klingle

Located at Connecticut Avenue and Macomb Avenue you will find The Klingle, an apartment building offering one bedroom rent controlled apartments. The building offers one bedroom apartments that are around 500 SqFt, each of which have hardwood flooring, energy efficient appliances, and all utilities included in your rent. The location is extremely convenient – just one block to the Metro, and walking distance to all of the restaurant and entertainment options located in Cleveland Park. The National Zoo and Uptown Theater, both noteworthy Cleveland Park landmarks, are also within walking distance to The Klingle.

The Kenmore

Connecticut Avenue is a D.C. hotspot – the neighborhood is full of restaurants, entertainment options, and shops. Additionally, traveling in and around D.C. from this area is extremely convenient. The Kenmore is located on Connecticut Avenue in close proximity to Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights. The building has a wide variety of floor plans for studio, one, and two-bedroom rent controlled apartments. Updated appliances, spacious rooms and closets, and large windows are just a few features we love about The Kenmore. The building offers 24-hour concierge service to its residents, adding to its appeal. We love the Kenmore for the classically beautiful apartments and convenient location.
