Renter’s Guide To St. Louis

The Best of St. Louis | City Guide For Renters

St. Louis, Missouri is commonly known for the Gateway Arch, a monument built for the westward expansion of the United States. What many people don’t know is St. Louis has evolved into a very lively city with plenty of things to see and do for people of all ages. While there are a ton of different neighborhoods to live in to experience St. Louis, we’ve picked our 3 favorites as well as popular restaurants, entertainment, and apartments to enjoy!

What to Do

Busch Stadium

If you’re in St. Louis, you have to catch a St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball game at Busch Stadium. One of the coolest things about attending a game here is you can bring your own food and drink (non-alcoholic) into the stadium! With the breathtaking views of the St. Louis skyline and Gateway Arch, you might forget you’re watching a baseball game!

Gateway Arch

Sure you can see the Gateway Arch from Busch Stadium and and enjoy the grounds around the monument for free, but we recommend paying the small fee to take the Journey to the Top. On a clear day you can see up to 30 miles in each direction where you’ll experience amazing views of St. Louis and the Mississippi River.

Where to Eat

Breakfast: Rooster

Want to start your day off on the right foot? You must head to Rooster, a delicious European style, urban cafe in downtown St Louis. While they specialize in sweet and savory crepes, the “Rooster Slinger” is a real crowd pleaser: Andouille sausage, breakfast potatoes, fried eggs, and sausage gravy served over thick toast.

The meat here is slow cooked for 14 hours over sweet apple or cherry wood and then topped off with one of 4 signature sauces. Be sure to try the pulled pork or chicken sandwich lunch special every Monday-Friday from 11 to 2!

Dinner: Mango Peruvian Cuisine

Mango Peruvian blends the diverse flavors of Peru with locally sourced products in a creative and flavorful manner. The plantain chips with dipping sauce and Pescado Ceviche are great ways to start your meal. The Saltado de Langostinos is a fan favorite or try the Pre-Theater menu, a 3-course meal for $20, served from 4-6 on Monday-Saturday.
