Lovely Cities for Young Couples

Lovely Cities for Young Couples

Going back to where you and your loved one first met is a great way to bring back those butterflies and reminisce about the good times you’ve spent; however, change can be a good thing. Perhaps you or your loved one are looking for a new job in a new city or maybe you’re welcoming your first child, regardless you need to know where to live. We absolutely adore these lovely cities for young couples and newlyweds.

Arlington, VA

Arlington has become a hotbed for young couples and newlyweds who still want the perks of living near D.C. but need a more affordable option. Whether you’re looking for a new home in a peaceful neighborhood like Lyon Park or a luxury apartment community in Clarendon, there are plenty of different options for you and your loved ones to settle down.

Restaurants like The Liberty Tavern and Water & Wall serve as perfect date nights. The nightlife is also great, with plenty of young couples out and about for trivia nights and karaoke. Another fun date night is to head to the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse for $2 movies on Monday and Tuesday nights! Due to it’s close proximity to D.C., Arlington also has plenty of historical monuments to see like the Marine Corps War Memorial and the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial.

Boston is a great place to move for young couples because it has so many diverse neighborhoods to choose from that it attracts couples of all sorts. The city is also very walkable, a perfect excuse for you and your loved one to walk around, spend some quality time, and see some of Boston’s finest restaurants and activities.

The Boston Common alone could keep you and your loved one occupied with outdoor ice skating at Frog Pond, sneaking a kiss under a beautiful willow tree at the Public Garden, and it marks the start of the Freedom Trail. There are also some must see museums like the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum or the ICA and of course you must catch a Sox game at one of the most historic stadiums in sports, Fenway Park.

Houston, TX

Houston, the 4th largest city in the country, has seen an insane amount of growth in recent years with young couples and Millennials moving to the area. And while everything is typically bigger in Texas, the cost of living in Houston is actually well below the national average of major American cities.

The brunch and bar scene is thriving and is a perfect place to meet new friends and two of our favorite spots for brunch include Down House and Liberty Kitchen Oyster Bar. Take your love to the next level by getting a glimpse of Houston from above in the JPMorgan Chase Observation Tower or taking a ride in a hot air balloon around the city!

San Jose, CA

We had to show the West Coast some love, and San Jose is the city most lovebirds are flocking to or have already set down their roots. While the housing costs are above the national average, its location in the heart of the Silicon Valley comes with very high paying jobs to make it all affordable.

Almost 55% of households in San Jose consist of married couples, perfect for double, triple, and even quadruple dates! But if you’re looking for a more intimate night with your significant other, grab an early dinner downtown at Le Papillon or 71 Saint Peter then head to the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve for the magnificent sunsets and views of San Jose lit up at night.
