Walk towards the center of the neighborhood and you will find the circle itself – bustling with activity. Pick up games, yoga, dog walking and picnicking are just some of the activities you will see happening in Dupont Circle. This area is home to a wide variety of bars, restaurants, shops, museums, and galleries. With Embassy Row just down the street, the neighborhood is bursting with culture and diversity. Hank’s Oyster Bar
If you are looking to enjoy some fresh seafood in a casual environment, Hank’s Oyster Bar is a must-try in Dupont. While oysters are clearly their specialty, everything on the menu is fresh and tasty. They pride themselves on being a local spot that is “non-pretentious.” The meals are simple but classic, and use only the freshest ingredients. Brunch is served on both Saturday and Sunday and includes classic brunch items with an under-the-sea spin. Stop in to meet some friendly locals and enjoy some of the best seafood around.
Located inside a boutique DC hotel, the Tabard Inn serves exceptional food and with an equally unique ambiance. The warm and cozy interiors are truly inviting and the outdoor garden patio is one of the best places to dine when the weather is warm. Chef Paul Pelt uses seasonal, local ingredients and thusly offers an ever-changing daily menu with subtle influences from different cuisines throughout the world. The Sunday brunch menu offers the usual suspects (pancakes, omelets and the freshest donuts around) done in spectacular fashion. Some say they have the best brunch in DC. Sunday and Monday evenings, treat yourself to a special dinner and and enjoy a live jazz performance starting at 7:30 pm.
Kramerbooks & Afterwards Café
This combination independent book store/cafe is an unique and unexpected treat in the heart of Dupont Circle. Browse the selection of best sellers, then mosey on into what is much more than a typical cafe, boasting seasonal offerings such as lamb pot pie and pumpkin ravioli. Keep your eyes open for quirky touches like the peep-sized replica, Kramerpeeps & Afterpeeps.
The Bier Baron Tavern is a specialty beer bar that also offers tasty bar food. With over 500 bottled beers, and 55 different rotating taps, this is the place to come if you enjoy exploring specialty beers from all around the world. Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm, team trivia takes place with food and drink deals available for players. Bier Baron also holds standup comedy on the first and third Sunday of every month. The cost is $15 dollars at the door and it starts at 9 pm. The combination of their lively environment and the diverse beer selection can’t be beat.

Glen’s Garden Market
This full-service grocery store prides itself on being completely local and eco-friendly. Embassy Row is the area of DC ranging from Dupont Circle to the National Cathedral where many of the foreign embassies are located. While not all of them are on the row, about 12 are located along a couple block stretch of New Hampshire Avenue right off Dupont Circle. There are about 12 closer to the Connecticut Avenue stretch. Take a walk up Embassy Row and get a glimpse of all of the different cultures that have influenced the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
The Phillip’s Collection
Home to many modern and impressionist art pieces, The Phillip’s collection is a small and intimate art gallery in the heart of Dupont Circle. Here you will find works by Van Gough, Rothko, O’Keefe, and more. They are constantly adding new pieces and frequently host special exhibitions. If you are an art lover, The Phillip’s collection is worth a visit.
